This route will loop Seattle's beautiful Green Lake. Each loop is 3 miles, making the total distance anywhere from 3 to 10+ miles depending on how many loops you choose to do!
Access is easy from Roosevelt Light Rail or City Bus.
This route will circle Green Lake all morning, with recurring stops at Green Lake Arch for rest and regrouping, and at South Boathouse for slide sessions on their fun ramp.

Take the skate way downtown to find your way to the starting point for today's evening waterfront skate.
If you don't want to do this one, you can take the light rail downtown instead.
This route departs Greenlake and heads up to Roosevelt, eventually through the University to Eastlake Bridge. From there, we ascend Capitol Hill to the beautiful Melrose Avenue view and skate through Broadway to the Seattle University campus on the way to bomb 12th Avenue and Jackson towards International and Stadium districts. Be prepared for a few miles of hills!

Skate from Green Lake to the downtown for our waterfront skate

Downtown Commute

Explore the beauty of the Puget Sound at sunset and everything the Seattle waterfront has to offer!
This route heads up the waterfront, stopping over at some of our favorite piers for views over the Sound and practicing slides and wizard flow. We'll visit the Olympic Sculpture Park and twist through the waterfront trail until the Expedia parking garage for an hour of flatland socializing and slides. From there, we'll retrace our steps and return to the piers for sunset before finishing at Lumen.

Waterfront Skate

This skate route is TBD and will be a fast city skate finishing near Westlake, University Way, or International District light rail stations
This route heads up the waterfront to Pike Place, and then cuts across downtown into Westlake and Denny Triangle, likely heading into Capitol Hill to... (get this)... bomb some hill.

Fast Night Skate

Start from a University of Washington and head downtown to Lumen, preparing for later making our way to Alki Beach to prep for the evening chill beach skate &#x26; hang.
This route carves through the University, heads along the Burke-Gilman bike trail to Gasworks Park, crosses the Fremont Bridge, and hits a delightful hill on the way to a stopover at Shop Task. From there, we visit South Lake Union past the Amazon balls, to hill-bomb Second Ave on the way to Pioneer Square.

West Seattle Trip to Alki

Skate Alki Beach, Seattle's classic beach trail skate! With beautiful views and flat, smooth pavement, this is every skater's dream.
We’ve planned the Alki beach afternoon evening as a relaxed one-spice skate event. Once we arrive from the previous skate, we'll have a few hours to go off on our own and get food and rest before the planned activities start at 6:00 PM. <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/Fx293QkXAx9eBgKD6">Our meeting spot</a> is a great spot to chill in the sand and take in the views. Feel free to participate in the planned events... or just chill!
Alki has restaurants, snack shops, ice cream, and a brewery. Most, if not all of these businesses have been very kind to skaters. Blue Moon burgers, Marination Station, Natalie’s, and Future Primitive have all been really accommodating. We kindly ask that you are as respectful as possible when interacting with them so that we can maintain our good relationship. Thank you and enjoy a lovely afternoon on Alki!

<li>8:00 - 10:00 PM: Chill on the beach, skate along the boardwalk, or practice your slides near the sand.</li>
<li>10:00 - 10:30 PM: Alki Beach shuts down. Local buses run to the light rail every 15 minutes and Alki has plenty of parking for folks who want to drive.</li>

We'll start downtown and head up to Seattle Center. We'll roll through the Bite of Seattle food festival, giving ample time for folks taste a bit of Seattle festival offerings under the canopy of the Space Needle.
We'll spend about 2 hours playing a skate game here! The mysterious and thrilling <a href="/events/2024-07-20-afternoon">Duck Hunt</a>!

Meet at KOMO Plaza by the KOMO Plaza sign.
This team game is designed for all skill levels. You will use teamwork to discover points of interest in Seattle within the set timeframe, competing for prizes!
We'll spend about 2 hours playing the game, including time for rest, breaks, and snacks as you desire.
Teams will be assigned. We'll finish at KOMO Plaza and then regroup for the rest of our <a href="/events/2024-07-20-morning">Seattle Center urban skate</a>!

After the skate game, we meet back at EMP metal "Grass Blades" sculpture roundabout (Harrison St) at 3:30 PM, with rollout at 4:00 PM towards Shop Task.
After Shop Task, we'll head along Westlake bike path to the Fremont Bridge, down the Burke-Gilman trail, and finish at Gasworks.

We'll start at Gas Works and take the Burke-Gilman bike trail across Fremont and Ballard neighborhoods to Golden Garden beach.
Along this route, look forward to opportunities to stop for a flatlands session in Fremont, visiting the Ballard Troll, and slides and hangouts at the marina and at Golden Gardens.
We'll take the same route to return.

Starting point is on the Burke Gilman near the Metropolitan Market in Sand Point. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or
a beginner, this event is for you! All levels are welcome. Choose between a 5k and 10k and hit your stride! To
participate in this Fundraiser skate, you will need to <a href="https://skatejourneys.org/hit-your-stride-trails-skate-challenge/">register separately</a>.
All registration fees are donations to Skate Journeys Skate School.
Whether you are taking part in this Skate Journeys event or not, get ready for our 5/5 spice level <a href="/events/2024-07-21-afternoon">Two-Bridges route</a> at 1:00 PM.

Starting at 11:30 AM, we will have free bagels graciously donated by <a href="https://zylberschtein.com/">Zylberschtein's Delicatessen &#x26; Bakery</a> available to skaters at the Triangle meeting spot.
We'll hang out a bit with bagels and then the skate rollout is at 1:00 PM.
Marathon loop route starting &#x26; ending near the light rail at University of Washington. We meet at the concrete benches on the top of the Triangle Garage.
Loop both floating bridges across Lake Washington. Take in everything Seattle has to offer, and finish this event by giving it everything you've got! Cover over 40 miles in one day if you do this plus the morning half-marathon!
