Welcome to the Third Annual Spicy Salmon Roll!
We start with a 6:00 PM meetup at Pier 62 on the waterfront of downtown Seattle. This meeting location is easily accessible from downtown Seattle, Pike Place Market, and the new Overlook Walk. It is across the street from the reasonably priced Pike Place parking garage. We will gather here at Pier 62 to welcome each other before the evening's routes.

Flatland Opener

Meet us at Pier 62 for a relaxed cruise along Seattle's beautiful new waterfront. A one-spice group will enjoy an easy pace along the waterfront path, while a two-spice group picks up the speed just a bit.
We'll skate north past Olympic Sculpture Park and onto the Elliott Bay Trail before regrouping near the pedestrian bridge. From there we'll reverse course and roll back to Pier 62 together for a perfect summer evening skate.

Waterfront Flow

The spicy Thursday night skate starts alongside the chill group before breaking away to explore downtown after dark. Rather than following a fixed route, we'll flow through the city together, chasing smooth streets, fun lines, and whatever looks skateable.
Expect to explore neighborhoods like South Lake Union, Cascade, Denny Triangle, and Belltown, with hill bombs, quick turns, and nonstop rolling. There are no planned stops and no predetermined finish, just an energetic night of free-flow city skating for confident urban skaters.

Night Escape

Choose one of two starting locations for our Friday morning adventure!

<li>18-mile route: For a fun segment through a tunnel and across a long floating bridge, meet at Judkins Skatepark at 10:00 AM.</li>
<li>13-mile route: For the regular route, meet at the Mercer Island Park &#x26; Ride at 10:45 AM.</li>
</ul>
From the Park &#x26; Ride, everyone will wind through Mercer Island on quiet roads with gentle rolling terrain. The second half of the island features some longer climbs and descents, making this a great introduction to road skating with just enough elevation to keep things interesting.
Along the way, thrill seekers will have multiple options to split off temporarily from the main group to tackle extra spicy hills (levels 4 and 5), so everyone can choose their own level of challenge.
Water and food are limited along the route, so come prepared! We're planning water support and will have an on-call support vehicle available if needed.
At the end of the loop, you can either finish at the Mercer Island Park &#x26; Ride and ride the light rail back to downtown Seattle, or you can skate back across the I-90 Bridge to Judkins Park to complete the 18-mile route.

For anyone arriving early for our afternoon/evening skates! Here's some things you could do while hanging out at the waterfront:

<li>Check out some of the classic Seattle food vendors, such as Ivar's Fish and Chips or Molly Moon's Ice Cream</li>
<li>Visit the elevated overlook connecting Pike Place Market to the waterfront</li>
<li>Ride the Seattle Great Wheel for panoramic views (about 20 minutes)</li>
<li>Skate flow up and down the new waterfront path!</li>
</ul>

Waterfront Hangout

Also known as “Under Sea Jamboree”, this will be a costume route, so get your "under the sea" costumes ready! Dress up as your favorite part of the sea and bring the energy!
This is our ultimate party-pace skate. We'll keep the speed slow, enjoy the scenery, and make this one all about the people.
Make sure to pack shoes for the option to take the water taxi back!

Alki Commute

Once the Alki Commute crosses into West Seattle, the Demon Horns route will break away for an extra helping of spicy hills while the chill group continues along the trail.
We'll climb up to SW Genesee St for a short, but notoriously steep hill bomb with a perfect uphill rollout. (Zero braking needed!) After that, we'll climb up SW Admiral Way for a 2–3 minute descent down to the beach. Admiral has a couple intersections that we'll hopefully catch on green, but you should know how to stop if needed.
We'll then regroup with everyone along the water for the Alki Party!

We're hanging out at Jack Block Park plaza with an evening full of skating and community. This isn't a scheduled event with a finish line - it's a place to gather, meet new people, and enjoy the waterfront. Skate over to Alki Beach for food, bring your own snacks and drinks, roll around with friends, or just kick back and enjoy the vibes.
Come for an hour or stay all night, and most importantly, bring the energy!
You can skate back whenever you're ready or catch the West Seattle Water Taxi, which runs until 11:00 PM. If you're planning to take the ferry during or after the route, be sure to bring shoes along for boarding.

Even if you've skated this route in previous years, you're in for something completely new. The only things this version shares with the original are the two iconic bridges — we've redesigned everything else!
Expect a longer route with more elevation, more technical turns, and even more opportunities for fast, flowing skating.
This is our spiciest Saturday morning route yet, and helmets are required for all participants.

We'll head over to Green Lake for a relaxed morning of skating, picnicking, and hanging out. After arriving, we'll set up a home base with snacks, frisbees, and plenty of room to relax before skating easy laps around the lake.
Stay for a few laps or spend the whole morning with us — it's all about enjoying the park at your own pace. Food and drinks are available nearby whenever you need a break.

Our Saturday night party skate is all about good music, good people, and a beautiful Seattle sunset.
We'll roll through Ballard at a mellow pace with a shared community playlist, so bring your portable speakers (and download Spotify) to help provide the soundtrack!

Along the way we'll stop at Pagliacci Pizza and 7-Eleven for food and drinks before continuing to Golden Gardens to dance and watch the sun go down behind the Olympic Mountains.
Once the sun has set, we'll skate back to Gas Works Park together where we will get a beautiful view of Seattle’s night skyline across Lake Union!
Be sure to bring lights — we'll be skating after dark!

Steampunk to Playa

Ease into Sunday with a relaxed urban skate that shows just how fun city skating can be.
We'll cruise through Seattle Center beneath the Space Needle, stop for burgers, fries, or a shake at the iconic Dick's, then roll through downtown and South Lake Union at a comfortable, social pace.
This route is designed as a welcoming introduction to skating in the city, with plenty of opportunities to practice navigating streets, alleys, curbs, and intersections alongside experienced skaters. Whether you're looking to build confidence beyond the trails or simply enjoy a fun cruise through some of Seattle's most iconic neighborhoods, this is the perfect way to wrap up the weekend.
We're keeping this as chill as possible, but we rate this route 2/5 because there are some hills and traffic intersections. It's impossible to fully avoid hills in the Seattle urban center!

Shop Task

Finish the weekend with one last adventure through some of Seattle's best skate terrain.
Starting at Shop Task, this two-lakes route draws a figure eight around Green Lake and Lake Union, while visiting the beautiful University of Washington campus and Gasworks Park. From there we'll tackle the famous Stone Way downhill, return through Gas Works, and finish with one last descent down Eastlake before curving back to Shop Task.
We rate this route as 3/5 because of the hills, but we will plan to wait for participants at waypoints with full safety staff. Pads and helmets highly encouraged!

This route, just like the geometry of the infinity loop, represents the continuous, eternal flow of energy, balance between dualities such as light and dark, and the opportunity to contemplate what happens in the middle.
